Good leader?!

What is characteristic for a good leader?! To my knowledge there is no established definition. Everyone makes up their own.

Asking myself I think of words like committed, involving, transparent and without prestige. To reach that I think you as a leader need to be secure. You need to have trust in yourself. Understand the importance of others trust in you, and put some serious work into creating it. Colleagues and other stakeholders need to feel secure with you. Understand your reasoning, positions and your choices. To reach this a certain part of predictability is needed.

By being well grounded in yourself, listen to your own voice and what it is saying, you can accomplish the above. You are building your security and trust in yourself. When others sees that trust, they are also able to trust you. You are predictable since everything you do comes from inside you. You are trustworthy.

For me good leadership goes inside and out. An authentic leadership.
